Day - 01
Our representative will meet you at Bandaranaike International Airport when you arrive for your 12 days Sri Lanka Honeymoon Itinerary. Then you will be driven to the beautiful beach city of Negombo to your hotel, where you will be spending a relaxing night.
Day - 02
On day two, you will be journeying to the city of Sigiriya. On the way to Sigiriya, you can go sightseeing in the city of Dambulla. We will be visiting the Dambulla Golden Temple, officially named Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple. It is the largest preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka; the structure is created by five caves. The walls are covered with mural painting within a 2100 m2 area. The temple contains 157 statues in total. The roof is a gigantic 150m tall rock, making the existence of the temple a geological wonder. The giant 15-meter golden statue and the pagoda were built following a conservation project. The temple is also a UNESCO listed heritage site. After visiting the temple, we will be heading to your hotel in Sri Lanka for dinner and the night.
Day - 03
On day three of your 12 days Sri Lanka Honeymoon Itinerary, you will get to enjoy some mountaineering activities. Sigiriya is famous for its rock fortress. The Sigiriya, meaning “lion rock”, was the location of King Kashyapa’s fortress and was his capital. The rock has a height of 180 m. The story behind the name Sigiriya is that halfway up the rock, King Kashyapa built a gateway resembling an enormous lion. This structure was the reason it was called the lion rock (Sigiriya). The fortress was abandoned after the death of the King, and up until the 14th century, it was used as a Buddhist monastery. The ruins of the fortress are protected today and are a UNESCO-listed world heritage site.
Also, there is the Pidurangala rock, which is more natural and offers a panoramic view of the Sigiriya rock and the surrounding greenery. As tall as the Sigiriya, it is less famous but offers a more adventurous climb. It is believed that King Kashyapa moved the monks who were meditating on the Sigiriya rock before he took over Sigiriya, to the Pidurangala rock. You can choose to climb either one of the rocks or both.
After the adventure, you will be driven to the village of Hiriwadunna. The rural village is located near Habarana Town. This beautiful, tiny village is a time portal, with a small population of 2500 people. It is a captivating way to spectate the lives of the villagers. In addition, you can enjoy bullock cart rides and canoe rides, and taste a delicious traditional Sri Lankan lunch. After that, you will be driven back to the hotel.
Day - 04
On day four, you will journey to Kandy via Matale. On the trip, we will be visiting a few places like Nalanda Gedige temple, a spice garden, and Matale Muthumariamman Hindu temple.
The Nalanda Gedige temple is located near Matale; it is an ancient stone temple. The building was constructed between the 8th and 10th century A.D. The structure of the Dravidian architecture was built in the Pallava style. The temple was believed to be used by Buddhists and was later confirmed after a pillar was unearthed at the site. The ruins are believed to be the site that is considered the geographical center of Sri Lanka.
After that, we will be heading to the spice garden, which is a magical land of aroma and greenery. You will also get a chance to learn about the uses of spices in cooking and medicine.
Afterward, we will be heading to Muthumariamman Temple located in Matale. The name Muthumariamman is a grouping of three names: Muthu, meaning pearl, Mari, meaning rain, and Amman, meaning mother It is a temple devoted to the Hindu goddess Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility. The temple is a beautiful location to visit. People visit the temple often for weddings and for worship. In the month of March, the main religious event in the temple takes place, the chariot festival, which is a celebratory event. Then we will be heading directly to Kandy for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day - 05
On day five of your Sri Lanka 12 Day Sri Lanka Honeymoon Itinerary, you will be able to see the great Kandy city; we will visit many spots around Kandy. After your morning meal, our vehicle will get you from your hotel. The areas we will visit are the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), which is one of the most visited vacation destinations in Sri Lanka. It is a highly consecrated and significant location for any Buddhist person on the planet.It is the enshrined temple of the left canine tooth of Gautama Buddha. It was named a world legacy by UNESCO in 1988.
Then, at that point, the following area is Kandy Lake, which is referred to by local people as the Kiri Muhuda (“Sea of Milk”). Day - 08

This is a climb you will never forget. Afterward, you will be driven back to Ella to your overnight hotel.
Day - 09
On day nine, you will be adventuring to the exploratory Yala national park.
After your breakfast, we will be heading to see the Nine Arch Bridge. which you have already seen on your train journey, but the scenery and architecture of the bridge itself is worth seeing again. The Nine Arch Bridge is also called the Bridge in the Sky. It is a colonial era construction with a viaduct bridge structure.
Afterward, we will be heading to Yala, and on the way, we will be visiting the Ravana Falls (generally known as Ravana Ella), named after the legendary king Ravana. It is believed that King Ravana kidnapped princess Sita and hid her in a cave behind the waterfall. It is the widest fall in the country. During the wet seasons, the waterfall turns into a resemblance to an areca flower.
Following that, we will proceed directly to the Yala National Park for your safari tour through the country’s second largest national park, which is bordered by the Indian Ocean.The park consists of five blocks and only two are open to the public, named Ruhunu and Kumana national parks. Yala was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900. After the safari, you will be taken to the hotel for dinner and a night’s stay.
Day - 10
On the 10th day of your 12 Days Sri Lanka Honeymoon Itinerary, you will be driven straight to Mirissa. When you reach Mirissa, we will visit the Coconut Tree Hill. It is probably the most famous location in Mirissa. It is a mineralized headland in Mirissa, located beside the Indian Ocean. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the street through the beach. When you reach the top, it gives a stunning view of the beach and Mirissa bay, and you definitely need to capture a portrait in this amazing frame. Afterward, you can take a stroll through the town and head to the hotel for the night.
Day - 11
On the 11th day, you will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see whales, as we have arranged a whale-watching tour in the morning. You can get close to these beautiful creatures. You will also get a chance to see many more sea life.
Afterward, we will be traveling to Benthota through Galle, and on the way, we will be visiting the Galle Fort, the popular Galle Fort situated on the cove of Galle. The Portuguese constructed it in 1588, then fortified it by the Dutch in the 17th century, from 1649 onwards. It is now an architectural legacy landmark, and despite being over 432 years old, it retains a graceful appearance.
Then, we will venture out to the See Turtle Hatchery Farm in Galle, which is devoted to expanding the endurance of child turtles. From the entrance forward, an advisor will provide you with a tour through the complex.
Afterward, we will be heading to the Madu River for a boat ride on the delightful Madu River in the town of Balapitiya. The waterway courses through the territory, making countless islands; likewise, a delightful wetland is made by the biological system.
